Tuinen van Eden is a completely newly constructed, nearly zero-energy neighborhood with architecturally designed new apartments and houses, where landscape architecture is a key focus. The project borders Park Van Eden, a landscape and recreational park, part of which is designated as a protected nature reserve.
The residential site is connected to the largest residential geothermal heating network in Flanders and is 80% independent of the energy grid. It is the most sustainable and energy-efficient heating and cooling system on the market. The architecture is inspired by nature, with minimalist designs and natural materials that harmonize with the landscape.
